Silent Auction - Four Disneyland 1-Day Park Hopper tickets!

Teach Boosters is announcing a silent, online auction for four (4) One-Day Park Hopper tickets as part of its "Get Ready for Summer" fundraiser!!

These tickets are valid during normal operating hours, and will provide the recipients with a magical experience of visiting both Disneyland® Park and Disney California Adventure® Park.



Register as a bidder and place your bid. Bidders will be notified when they are outbid.

Online bidding ends May 31, 2017, at 12:00 noon.

Four (4) One-Day Park Hopper tickets.

These tickets, valued between $660 (non-peak)-$696 (peak), are valid during normal operating hours and provide admission to a magical one-day experience at Disneyland California theme parks.

100% of the proceeds benefit Teach Booster-sponsored programs at C.E. Teach Elementary School.

RESTRICTIONS ON TICKETS:

The Disney Theme park tickets can only be used at the Park designated on the tickets, have no cash value, cannot be upgraded, nor can they be applied towards a package to meet eligibility requirements.

The Disney theme park tickets are subject to block-out dates - they may not be used for admission from December 25-31 of any year, through their expiration date.  Please note that these tickets will expire February 2019 and cannot be replaced if lost, stolen, used or expired.

WINNING BIDDER:

Winning bidder will be announced on June 1, 2017, between 3:00-4:00 pm at Teach Elementary School during the retirement party for Mr. Crabb. Winning bidder will be notified via the contact information specified.

Order Your 2016-17 Yearbook!

Can you believe it?  The last day of school is less than a month away!

This year has gone by so quickly!  

The 2016-17 yearbook theme is "Be Bright, Be Happy, Be You" and below is this year's Cover Design winner by 6th grader Kylee M.  
Yearbooks are $20 each and additional copies are $15 each for Teach siblings.

Order forms were sent home this week and are also available in school office.

Please return completed order form with check payable to "Teach Boosters" to school office or click online here to pay by credit card or PayPal for 2.5% additional handling.

Yearbooks will be delivered to students during the last week of school.

4/30 Teach Volunteers Needed for SLO Marathon!

We hope everyone is enjoying Spring Break!

We need a few more parents and students to volunteer to staff our station bright and early on Sunday, April 30 during the SLO Marathon!

All volunteers get a free t-shirt, snacks & drinks!

The refreshment station will be in our bus lane in front of the Teach office! 

Volunteers will provide beverages and Clif bars for the runners and cheer them on their way.  All of the runners should be through by 10:00 AM, and then we just need to clean up and we'll be done by 10:30.  It will be a fun and memorable experience for all!

Open Enrollment Results for 2017-18

From Teach School announcement,

San Luis Coastal's open enrollment period ended on March 31.

At this time we know that we will be able to accept all our of our incoming 4th grade students!

We will need to have a lottery for students who applied for 5th or 6th grade.  That lottery will occur on Friday, April 14, 12:30 PM, at the District Office in room B-3.  The District Office is located at 1500 Lizzie Street in San Luis Obispo.  Parents are welcome to attend the lottery, but attendance is not required.  All 5th and 6th grade names will be drawn and a ranked list will be created.  Students will be called in this order as soon as the number of open spots in these grades is known, which should be at some time in May.

We are excited about our new Teach Tigers and look forward to getting to know you!

Please stop by 8:15am-9:15am at Teach School during late start Monday April 10 as Teach teachers and staff are hosting a thank you breakfast!  Thank you to all Teach parents/guardians and families for volunteering this year!

Later that night, join Boosters for its only evening meeting at 7pm!  The agenda includes nominations for next year's Booster Board and Officers.

New this year is an option for families to buy dinner from a variety of food trucks to be parked on the blacktop by the lunch pavilion from 5pm-7:30pm!  Yum!

Open Enrollment for 2017-18 Begins Today!

Open Enrollment for Teach Elementary School 2017-18 begins today March 6th and ends March 31st.  Teach Elementary School receives all of its students through the Open Enrollment process and the best way for families to learn about Teach is from our current and alumni families.

  • What makes Teach Elementary School special for your child(ren) and your family?  Spread the word! 



  • Check out the updated About Teach page and the below updated letter and brochure mailed out to District 3rd, 4th and 5th grade families last week.  Extra copies in the school office and the digital version of the brochure are available to pass along to your friends, colleagues and neighbors! 


  • New this year are school tours on Mondays 10:30am-11:30am and a Thursday 1pm-2pm, so prospective families can view classes in action.  Tour signs up are filling fast.  
  • Invite anyone you think would be interested to our Prospective Family Information Night and Open House on Thursday, March 23 6:00pm-7:30pm.  
  • In the event there are more requests than space available, a lottery will be conducted on April 13th 12pm at SLCUSD District Office Room B3.

TGIF March 3 Chili Cook Off & Book Fair Combo!

5:30pm-8pm Annual Teach School Chili Cook Off!

All Teach families are invited to attend this fun community event on Friday night 3/03!  

  • Competition chili is divided into three categories this year: vegetarian, beef & pork, and chicken or turkey. 
  • We also need contributions of cornbread, fruit or veggie platters, and dessert.   
  • Bring quarters to vote for your favorite chili (helps us pay for the paper supplies!), and play BINGO and eat POPCORN and BOOK FAIR!

Dear Teach Parents,

Just a reminder to join me for Coffee with the Principal on Monday, January 30th at 9:25. Drop off your child and pop into our library for a 30 minute meet and greet. 

Our topic this month, "Advanced Pathways in Mathematics," was chosen by our Site Council. Many parents have had questions about possible pathways to advanced mathematics in grades 7-12. I'll share the San Luis Coastal mathematics pathways and answer any questions parents might have about preparing students for college and career-ready mathematics. 

There has been an additional request to share information about Advanced Pathways in English Language Arts, too. 

Please RSVP if you plan to attend so we can plan for refreshments.

Half Time Report

As of 12/31/2016, the Teach community has raised $98,769 or almost 90% of our $110,000 goal!!

We are hoping to hear back from families re: Tiger Support Forms so we can understand if the gap is truly $11,231 or less and then plan additional fundraisers this year.

We have quite a few exciting programs coming up this half:
  • Innovation & Exploration Initiative for all grades
  • 5th grade study trip to Yosemite
  • 4th grade trip to La Purisima
  • 4th grade trip to Piedras Blancas Station
  • 6th grade trip to Hearst Castle
  • 6th grade play
  • 6th grade trip to Mustang Slides Waterpark
