Genevieve's Gift Sale is ON!

Hello Teach Students and Parents, and welcome to another year at our amazing school!  As you may know, Genevieve's fundraising is an opportunity for our students to earn money for their individual study trip accounts.  This fundraiser is optional, but it gives families a way to offset the cost of their students' trips if they would like to participate. That's right:  THE PROFIT IS LIKE CASH IN YOUR POCKET.  Please note that we do not collect sales tax.  The tax amount is built into the price.  A catalog and packet went home with each child on Friday, and students can start earning prizes as early as Monday, with the sell 3/sell 10 frog prize!
The order period for prize eligibility ends SEPTEMBER 14.

Out of town friends and family are welcome to order online, and Genevieve's will deliver their orders directly to their door.  Students will get credit for all these orders, as long as the customer puts in the student's name and our school code:
11674

The nice thing about Genevieve's is that your student gets credit for orders made online all year 'round.  Even though they won't count toward prize eligibility after Sept 14, they will get credit for everything that is ordered with our code and their name.  So if your family and friends miss the Sept 14 deadline, no worries!  They can even order online for Valentine's Day, Easter, Father's Day, Graduation, any time they want a special gift from Genevieve's.  If they are shopping online anyway, why not make it count for your child?  Don't forget to go to www.genevieves.com first and click the PARENTS link to sign up your child.  The Genevieve's link and our school number is at the bottom of this and every page on this website, for your convenience all year.  :-)  Send them the link at http://www.genevieves.com and they can get shopping!

Each of these people has stepped up (and possibly out of their box) to lead and organize an event.  [Roars of applause!]  We still have opportunities for YOU to get involved.

Heavens no, it's not difficult!  You just have to commit.  "How much time are we talking here?" you ask.  As much as you have to offer.  From just 30 minutes to a few regular hours.  Don't be afraid to be a chairperson.  Get your BFF and pick an activity to do together.  It's always more fun with friends anyway.  Don't know how to do it?  I don't either.  Don't worry; it'll be fine.  In fact, it'll be marvelous.  We all have talents that we can share.  Really can't stomach being in charge?  Fine.  Then volunteer to be an assistant or do one of the million other little things that our school needs every day to make our children's education the best it can be:

Be a Room Parent
Help you child with his/her homework
Provide materials or treats for a school activity
Join your child for lunch at school
Chair a committee (or trick your friend into co-chairing with you)
Do things for your child's teacher from home
Share your skill or talent at school
Read with your kids (they still like it)
Help with fundraising
Attend School Board meetings
Help in the classroom
Play games with your child
Volunteer for a Booster Club program
Help with the Book Fair
Help with Science Fair/International Day/Battle of the Books
Chaperone a field trip
Attend Booster Club meetings  (September 3, y'all)
Help at school functions
Volunteer to do things from home or work
Lend equipment or tools

We have the following committee chairs open still, so if you see something you'd like to do, let us know!  If you need a job description, just email Sunshine:

Vice President (well, you just never know...)
4th or 5th grade Representative
March-a-thon
6th Grade Play
Jamba Juice/Dinner Night Fundraisers (easy)
T-shirt sales (also pretty easy)
Volunteer Coordinator
Public Relations

Our kids are only at Teach for 3 years - don't wait to get involved.  It'll be gone before you know it!  Most importantly, be mentally and physically present at your child's school.  I promise you will be better for the experience.  :-)

eScrip Dining Restaurants

Did you know that you can support your school just by dining out at locations you already visit?  Sign up at www.escrip.com with your atm or credit cards that you use and when you use them at local businesses, your schools get a small percentage.  Each visit may not seem like much, but it really adds up quickly!  Additionally, you don't have to choose just one school:  if you have children at different schools, you can support multiple schools.  You can also add your grocery loyalty cards to send contributions from your weekly shopping directly to your school's Boosters and PTA/PTO's.

Go to https://secure.escrip.com/jsp/supporter/registration/step1.jsp to sign up!  (If you don't carry grocery loyalty cards or your store isn't listed, just click "next" to go to the atm/credit card page.)  You have to be signed up for your contributions to count.

I signed up and forgot about it, and it turns out I've been sending contributions!  When we want to go out to eat but can't decide where, we visit eScrip Dining at www.escrip.rewardsnetwork.com and look for great choices.  These are places you might be visiting anyway, so why not support businesses that support our school?  More are being added all the time, but here's a list of places that are already supporting Teach School in our area:

Buona Tavola SLO
Berry Hill Bistro Paso Robles
Senor Sancho's Creston Rd. Paso Robles
Creeky Tiki SLO
Thai Palace Restaurant SLO
Chino's Tacos SLO
Mama's Meatball SLO
Bon Temps Creole Cafe SLO
Splash Cafe SLO
Laguna Grill SLO
Upper Crust Trattoria SLO
The Clubhouse SLO
Zorro's Cafe Shell Beach

and more!!  Visit the eScrip Rewards Network to get reviews and find places that will send a contribution each and every time you dine with your registered card.  Isn't that nice?
