Tiger Challenge Final - Record Breaking!!!

Tiger Challenge Games Day was a ton of fun!  Thank you to all volunteers for helping make the event and pizza lunch go smoothly.

With respect to the Tiger Challenge results... This was a record year!  Great team work!

A record $103,447 was raised for 95% of our goal!  Dance Party earned!

92% participation school-wide is also another record.

Contest Winners

• Kona Shaved Ice Cream Party - Mrs. Emery's class was the DARK HORSE after all!  Coming from behind, Mrs. Emery's class earned the most $.
• Extra recess goes to Mrs. Robson's and Mr. Lanier's classes for 97% participation!

Congratulations this year to

• Teacher of the Day:  Madison W, Ryan M, AnnaBelle K, Matthew D, Dante F G and Carly S!!
• And this year... a special Coach (PE Teacher) of the Day: Henry Lindsey!!

Tiger Challenge 2019!!

Tiger Challenge begins today!  This exciting event combines fundraising and a Tiger Challenge Games Day on Oct. 4 which promotes fitness, teamwork and fun.  

Students earn prizes in the competition by obtaining donations or business sponsorships.

All Teach students receive a Teach Tiger Challenge T-shirt and pizza lunch on Oct 4!  Friends and family of students can order pizza lunch (see below).

Sponsorships offer high visibility to your business to both Teach Elementary School families and the greater San Luis Obispo community.

Battle Book List 2019-20!

Teach's School-wide Battle of the Books is June 1st, 10 months from today!  To participate, the minimum # of books to read and summarize from the 2019-20 List are:

Teach Standard Book Report Form. Some teachers may use a different form, but the required book information will be similar.

• Flower:  Please send your child to school with a flower for his/her teacher (and any other staff they would like to celebrate). Flowers from each class will be collected and put in a vase for that teacher.

• Homemade thank you card:  Please have your child make and bring a card for their teacher today (and any other staff they would like to celebrate).  
• If you would like to include an optional gift card, please enclose it in your child's homemade card. Need suggestions about what your child's teacher likes? Email your room parent for a list of the teacher's favorite things.

Informational Mixer Volunteer Info & Opportunities for Incoming Families Wed, May 1 5:30-7:00 p.m. Cafe Roma Cocktail Lounge 1020 Railroad Ave, SLO Connect with Booster Board & Chairs and identify rewarding volunteer opportunities for the upcoming year. Appetizers and iced tea sponsored by Teach Boosters. No host bar. We are thrilled to hold this event at Cafe Roma. Global Awareness Week at Teach

There will be quite a lot of activity for Global Awareness Week!

Mon Apr 22 is Earth Day!  

• To celebrate and support Earth Day's 2019 Campaign: Protect Our Species, each class has selected an endangered species and will present their research at 11:30-12:30 All School Assembly.  
• Additionally, students will have opportunities to plant a seedling of milkweed in the Garden to support Monarch Butterfly population in our area with 6th grade parent Julie, Garden Coordinator.

Tue Apr 23 is Travel the World Parent Presentations! 

• Students will be given a list of countries from which they will request their "top 3" choices. After a morning assembly, 10-12 parent volunteers will present a 15-20 minute presentation on a country in 3 sessions to 3 different groups of students, between 10:30-12:30.  After the presentations, presenters are invited to share lunch together.  Thank you, parent presenter volunteers and 5th grade parent Eva, the Chair of Global Awareness Day!

Wed Apr 24 is the Geography Challenge!

Thu Apr 25 is the Dream Big: Engineering Our World movie assembly.  

• Additionally, SLO Symphony Music Van will return for 5th graders!
• Mrs. Robson's 4th graders have an evening performance of the "Environmental Show" for friends & family.

Fri Apr 26 is "Environmental Show" for the school.  (Limited seating for guests.)

Sun Apr 28 6:30am-9am is SLO Marathon volunteer event.

• Teach will be hosting a refreshment/aid station located at Johnson and Bishop Streets in downtown SLO. All volunteers get a free T-Shirt! Please register each person (adult/child) separately here.
