OPEN ENROLLMENT
Teach School is an alternative public school in San Luis Coastal Unified School District. Any student in 4th, 5th, or 6th grade who lives within district boundaries, including San Luis Obispo, Avila Beach, Morro Bay, or Los Osos may choose to attend Teach by following the open enrollment process in the district. School bus transportation for open enrollment students has been available in the past on a pay-per-student basis.

On behalf of everyone at Charles E. Teach School, I extend you a warm greeting and thank you for considering our school as an option for your child. The Teach School community is committed to providing an accelerated learning environment that nurtures creativity and diverse learning styles of motivated students.
Our school is built upon a history of achievement, expectations for high personal standards, and a rigorous climate that fosters independent learning. The staff, parents, and students also share a common vision that much of our academic success is based on strong parental involvement in the learning process. In 2010 and again in 2014, this partnership resulted in Teach School being recognized as a California Distinguished School, and in 2012 we were recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School.
Teach School provides an engaging, challenging, and accelerated learning environment for its family of students, parents, and staff. We hope to have the opportunity to share additional information with you about our unique and innovative program.

The Open Enrollment Period for the 2016-2017 school year is February 29-March 24, 2016. During this window,
Open Enrollment Forms are available in all district school offices and must be submitted to the student’s current or neighborhood school. In the event there are more requests than space available, a lottery will be conducted. Once the Open Enrollment period is over, transfers can only be accepted on a space-available basis after Open Enrollment has been processed.
Parents who would like to get more information about Teach are invited to attend our annual Prospective Family Information Night and Open House on Thursday, March 17, 2016, 6-7:30 PM. The information meeting will be held from 6-6:45 PM in our multi-purpose room followed by Open House in the classrooms from 6:45-7:30 PM. If you are unable to attend this event, please call (805) 596-4100 to schedule an appointment with our Principal, Mrs. Batistic, for a school tour.
BOOSTERS
Booster President Kimberley Wormley will be at the Prospective Family Information Night and Open House to discuss how the Charles E. Teach Booster Club plays a vital role in supporting the extraordinary enrichment experiences for Teach students.
